Maria Esther Castillo Is Duct-taped Passenger of United Airlines! Maria Esther Castillo, pictured here, was duct-taped to her seat on UA Flight 645 on November 1 after she struck an attendant’s butt and pulled the hair of a blind passenger.
The 45-year-old woman, of New York’s Osewega, become extremely unruly (even repeatedly slipped off ankle cuffs), possibly influnenced after drinking the alcohol, on the Puerto Rico-Chicago bound flight Saturday, the flight crew had no way but to restrain her using the duct tape.
For other passenger’s safty concerns, the pilot had to divert the flight to Charlotte-Douglass International Airport in North Carolina. Maria Esther Castillo was arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police but resisted at first after landing in Charlotte.
Maria Castillo who appears in court today November 6 is charged with resisting arrest and interfering with the operations of a flight crew.
