Chen Shui-bian Arrest: Chen Shui-bian Detained for Alleged Money-Laundering! Former Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian was arrested and detained on Wednesday. He is accused of embezzling around 15 million Taiwan dollars (about 450,000 US) while in office, money laundering, taking bribes and forging documents. Though he pleaded his arrest was highly politically motivated, apparently, Chen Shui-bian might not be as innoncent as he claimed. When he was still the “President” of Taiwan, his son-in-law Chen Jien-ming was arrested and evenatually sentenced to 7 years in prison for the insider stock trading, wife Wu Shu-chien wired US$20 million abroad, and daughter-in-law’s Swiss bank accounts received 21 million US dollars ….
