Baby Suraya Brown (pictured above) was given the birth by mum Atlanta Ruzman fourthteen months ago, the otherwise healthy girl now baffled UK’s doctors for why not grow normally after birth.

Suraya Brown who was born four weeks earlier than the due date weighs only about 7lb, much lighter than 20lb which should have been expected for her age, and measures just 19in for her length. She stayed at her birth weight (2.6lb) for the first eight months and has only put on a small amount over the past six.

When interviewed by The Mirror, Ms. Ruzman said her baby daughter is like a real-life baby doll and even not bigger than a doll of her elder daughter. She also revealed little Suraya can not sit, talk or crawl and has to be fed through a tube to keep her alive.

Baby Suraya has been carried out dozens of different tests including checks to see whether she is suffering from dwarfism, but none of these test came up with positive results. Further checks at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital will investigate a theory that the body of Suraya Brown has become resistant to its own growth hormones.

Dr Jide Menakaya, a Consultant paediatrician who has known Suraya since birth, said her case is “highly unusual” and has “certainly never seen anything like this” during his nearly 17 years’ career.
