Lisa LavoieLisa Lavoie is a teacher from Holyoke, Massachusetts, but it’s almost sure that she will be disqualified as an educator soon, because the 24-year-old recently eloped with her 15-year-old male student of the eighth-grade.
Lisa Lavoie began teaching only five months ago, yet it seemed she managed to develop a relationship with one of her teen boy students. After the boy’s parents complained the abnormal relationship to the school officials on Feb. 13, Lisa Lavoie and the teen went missing since Feb. 16.
Apparently, Lavoie sneaked out of Massachuttes with the boy. They were tracked through credit card and cell phone use.
It was at Monday night Lavoie was nabbed by the police at the Super 8 Motel in Morgantown, West Virginia, together with her was that missing male eighth grader.
Lisa Lavoie was locked behind bars of West Virginia Regional Jail and ordered held without bond because kidnapping in West Virginia carries a possible life sentence.
Lavoie made an initial appearance before a magistrate in West Virginia Tuesday morning. Her preliminary hearing on a kidnapping charge was scheduled for March 4.
It’s possible Lavoie will be transferred to Massachusetts where she can be charged with enticement of a child including statutory rape. [Image & Source: AP]
