Mickey Goodwin, former pro boxer from Detroit’s KronK, was murdered. The body of Mickey Goodwin was found inside the home he shared with his mother. Goodwin was said to be bludgeoned to death. Police Lt. Keith Guyot told the Detroit Free Press that a deceased Mickey Goodwin was found about 5 p.m. Tuesday on March 3. According to AP, Goodwin may have been beaten somewhere other than the home. Mickey Goodwin, 50, was trained at Detroit’s famed Kronk Gym. He won the Golden Gloves title in 1975, two years before he became a pro light heavyweight boxer. Goodwin lost only twice in 50 professional bouts, however Goodwin never won a championship. After his retirement from the competition since 1994, Mr. Mickey Goodwin worked at Jefferson Gym in River Rouge, Detroit, training the local boxing enthusiastic kids both boys and girls.

Update: Mr. Mickey Goodwin was not murdered, he was died of a stroke, no foul play involved. From Mlive.com
Goodwin was found about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Melvindale, just outside Detroit, said police Lt. Chad Hayes. An autopsy Wednesday revealed he died of a stroke.
Police initially said Goodwin appeared to have been beaten to death. Hayes said Goodwin fell down the stairs after suffering the stroke, causing non-life-threatening injuries.
“He banged himself up pretty good,” Hayes said.
Goodwin then took a shower and went to bed before expiring, Hayes said.
Goodwin shared the home with his mother and stepfather, who were not home at the time.
