2009 Britain’s Got Talent winner favorite Susan Boyle had a makeover (photos here & here)! A 35-pound haircut at a salon near her home today reinvented Susan Boyle from a woman with the unkempt appearance to almost a stylish icon. Selena Ledgerton Cooper of MSN Reality TV Blogger wrote on her blog
As well as boasting tamed chestnut tresses, plucked eyebrows and a fresher complexion, Susan was sporting a blouse, skarf and jaunty leather jacket no less!
Though a lot thought high of Susan Boyle’s nearly fundamental appearance change, Max Clifford, UK’s best-known publicist, made a contrary reaction. From AP:
But Max Clifford, Britain’s most prominent publicist, called the makeover a major risk because it could jeopardize the phenomenal connection between Boyle and her worldwide audience.
“Keep her as natural as possible for as long as possible,” said Clifford. “It’s more about protection than promotion. She’s got the voice. She has to make sure that the person people all around the world fell in love with remains the same.”
In fact, it was said that BGT’s producers were also not so happy with Susan Boyle’s makeover. From Dailymail
…her new look has caused consternation behind the scenes with sources on the show said to be ‘frantic’, as they wanted to preserve her unique looks for the live finals.
The contrast between Susan’s unkempt appearance and angelic singing voice is said by many to be the key to her meteoric rise to international fame.
