Hampton University Shooting! It was reported there was a shooting on Hampton University campus in the early morning of April 26, Hampton, Virginia. WAVY.com reported Hampton Police and Hampton University school officials had confirmed the incident, saying it happened inside the university’s Harkness Hall, a freshman mens’ dormitory.
The Hampton University shooting gunman who had been apprehended and taken into custody was a former student. He came on campus and shot a hall monitor and a pizza delivery man around 1:00am. The university has informed all of its staffs and students via SMS and email.
Update: There were no causalities resulted from Hampton University shooting, but three including the shooter himself were injured.
HAMPTON, Va. – A spokeswoman for Hampton University in Virginia says three people have been taken to a hospital after a shooting in a dorm.
Spokeswoman Yuri Rodgers Milligan says police believe the shooter is a former student who was one of the three injured early Sunday. A night manager for the Harkness Hall dorm at the school in southeastern Virginia was also hurt. The third victim was not identified but was not a student.
Milligan says all three are alive but she doesn’t have an update on their conditions. Officials don’t yet know the shooter’s motive. [AP]
The campus of Hampton University was on lockdown Sunday morning as the police remained on the scene to continue do the investigation.
