Dom DeLuise, 75, Died In Sleep On May 4 Night

Actor, comedian and chef Dom DeLuise, aka Dominic DeLuise, has passed away in Los Angeles. He was 75 years old. Dom was survived by wife of 40 years, comedian/actress Carol Arthur and their three sons, actors Peter, Michael and David DeLuise.

Dom DeLuise, who spiced up such movies as “Blazing Saddles,” “Silent Movie” and “The Cannonball Run” with his manic delivery and roly-poly persona, has died, his son told CNN affiliate KTLA.

DeLuise, 75, was surrounded by family when he died in a Santa Monica, California, hospital Monday night, Michael DeLuise said.

The cause of death was not immediately announced, but DeLuise had been battling cancer for more than a year.

According to TMZ, Dom DeLuise died peacefully in his sleep in the hospital at around 6 PM, May 4. An entry on Wikipedia said he was suffering from kidney failure and respiratory problems during the hospitalization.
