Rocker of band Hoosier Henry Lee Summer was arrested and charged on methamphetamine possession in Indianapolis, according to the reports.

Summer was arrested Tuesday after police say he threw drugs from his car during a traffic stop. Officers who tried to pull him over for not using a turn signal say they needed pepper spray to subdue the singer.
He faces one count of meth possession, one count of obstruction of justice and two counts of resisting law enforcement.

Summer … led police on a brief chase late Tuesday through a subdivision just north of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, according to a probable cause affidavit. After he stopped, the affidavit says, he lay on the ground but pulled his hands away when Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer Kevin LaRussa tried to cuff him.
Summer submitted only after LaRussa used a burst of pepper spray.
The officer had tried to pull over Summer’s black Ford Explorer after he turned onto 30th Street from a parking lot without using a turn signal, the affidavit says.
After Summer turned into the subdivision, the officer reported seeing the driver toss an object out the window; police later found a small box containing 0.1 gram of a crystal meth, the affidavit says.
Henry Lee Summer, 53, originally named Henry Lee “Hank” Swartz. He scored two Top 20 hits in the late ’80s with I Wish I Had a Girl (Who Walked Like That) (watch his live performance video below) and his cover of the song “Hey Baby.” Summer was released Wednesday from the Marion County Jail without a bond. He was scheduled to appear on court May 12 for an arraignment.
This is the second time Henry Summer had a brush with the police. In September 2006, Summer was arrested after the SUV he was driving crashed into several other vehicles and a mobile home in a local Indiana neighborhood. Later, he pled guilty to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to a year’s probation and forced to pay a fine.
