Apparently, Goddess of Luck is not at the side of Marco Andretti and Mario Moraes on today’s Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana.
Right after the flag-off, the cars of Marco Andretti and Mario Moraes who were in the third row were crashed out the car racing event. Jalopnik described the incident, “the 22-year-old Moraes was apparently on his cell phone and not paying attention, pushing Andretti into the wall.”
“The kid doesn’t get it; he never will. All the work, all the hopes, it’s over just like that. This place can just be so hard on you.” said Marco Andretti during the aftermath interview. Marco originally hoped to win the race on the 40th anniversary of his grandfather, racing great Mario Andretti lone victory in 1969, according to Courierpress.com.
While Moraes didn’t admit it was his faults. “I was in front, I was holding my line, and he just hit me.” he said. It was said Moraes directly went to confront Andretti following his release from medical check-up.
