Fernando Chui Sai On, 58, will be the new Chief Excutive of China’s Macao Special Administrative Region’s Chief Executive, replacing the incumbent Edmund Ho Hau Wah.

Fernando Chui Sai, Macao’s former Secretary for Social and Cultural Affairs, submitted his election candidate form to Macao Special Administrative Region’s Chief Executive Election Committee around 4pm local time on June 16. Fernando Chui, garnered 286 endorsements out of Macao’s CE Election Committee’s 300 members. As the Committee did not receive other election candidate form, Chui became the sole candidate for Macao’s top job. He is expected to be elected on July 26, 2009.
Fernando Chui, born 1957, was America-educated. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in City Hygiene Administration from California State University and PhD in public Hygiene at Oklahoma State University.
