Jessica Mcbride Edward A. Flynn affair was revealed by No Quarter of Journal Sentinel. Jessica Mcbride, 39, is a reporter and a journalism lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee while Edward A. Flynn, 61, is Milwaukee Police Chief. Both were married.
It was believed Jessica Mcbride and Edward Flynn started the affair and became love struck after an interview earlier this year. An email among those received by No Quarter from an anonymous source supposedly written by Mcbride, read:
“I honestly had myself almost convinced that we were going to talk about the police department at that night! Now that sounds so naïve. But something special happened between us that night; I will always cherish it. A complete meeting on all levels – mind, body, heart that I have never experienced. You completed me that night.”
Another one by Flynn read, “Warm, no not warm, hot memories of beautiful moments . . . and visuals. I feel younger today than I did last night.“
Pressed by No Quarter about the alleged romance in the past weeks, Edward Flynn issued a statement Thursday admitting he had an extramarital affair but not mentioning Jessica McBride’s name. Flynn also said he will continue to dedicate himself to defending Milwaukee people and asked them to forgive him.
“I have done my wife and family a great wrong, and I profoundly regret the hurt I have inflicted on them and others affected by my conduct. I accept the personal and public consequences of my private behavior. I have damaged my public reputation and violated the trust and love of my family.
“The people in my personal and professional life who needed to know the painful truth, know it and I have apologized to them. This is a personal matter that occurred in my private, off-duty time. I will continue to devote myself to making Milwaukee a better place.
“I hope that the people of this city who so warmly welcomed me can eventually forgive me.”
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, through his spokeswoman, released a statement showing support for Flynn:
“Police Chief Flynn is a very effective chief who has done an excellent job working to make Milwaukee a safer city.”
How about Jessica Mcbride’s side? So far no words from herself. When contacted by No Quarter, her husband Paul Bucher, who was former Waukesha County District Attorney, spoke briefly to No Quarter about the matter, saying it was a personal issue.
