Adam Yauch, the 44-year-old rapper, better known as MCA of hip pop group Beastie Boys, has been diagnosed having a cancerous tumor in his left salivary gland.
Fortunately, the cancer is “treatable” because it was caught early. And the tumor will not affect the musician’s vocal chord. He was scheduled a surgery next week.
The upcoming shows of Beastie Boys had to be cancelled, and the release of the band’s new album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 will also be pushed back.
Adam Yauch himself made a video announcement on Beastie Boys’ official website, promising “We’ll be back doing it soon.” Check out the announcement clip below:
