Don’t be fooled by the title! When running across the forwarded message 最年轻的世界小姐，养眼！！！(literally The Youngest Miss World, Eyes Nuturing) at the Chinese social networking site Kaixin001.com, I was mesmerizing who is the youngest Miss World ever? Unfortunately, that Chinese title was exaggerated! The so-called youngest Miss World turned out to be Gao Lisha, a regional winner of Miss World China 2008 from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. At the time, she was only 16 years old. So some boasted she is the “youngest” Miss World. Not like many beauty pageants contestants who pursue a modelling career, it seems Gao Lisha is aspiring to be a musician. She is now studying at the prestigious music institution–Affiliated Middle School of Central Conservatory of Music–in China.
