A kind remind for those who bought a unique IP address for their self-hosted wordpress blog hosted on Dreamhost.com. The one I purchased with a two year plan at $77 for this website didn’t function for one and a half years.

you: Take your time. In my dreamhost webpanel, under Billing–> Manage account –> Unique IP Addresses section, I have this message: “(0 used, 1 provided on this account) You currently have no unique IPs on this account.”
you: Sir, forget to tell my site is hosted on the VPS
Scott: Yeah. That’s what I am looking into. It’s not showing up.

Scott: It just looks like it was never added via your web panel. And yes, that is your new ip address
Scott: I’m running some updates on our end. Once done the IP should work. It will, however, be a bit before the domain resolves to the new IP

you: thanks for your help. what I am only concerned is that hope it will not affect the search engines to index my site
Scott: It should not have any impact on that.
