Meet Candy Cheah Wan Theng (谢婉婷), a singer from Malaysia. Though not as famous as her fellow Malaysian singers like Fish Leong (梁静茹) and Penny Tai (戴佩妮), Candy Cheah’s talents have managed to win her more than a dozen of awards bestowed from the music industries of both Malaysia and China in the past decade.

On December 31, 2009, Candy, together with some other entertainers including Taiwanese singer TANK and his seniors, rock band The Power Station, performed live the Energizing 2010 Countdown Concert for 20000 plus hyper fans at the open-shed parking lot of Queens Bay Mall in Penang, northern Malaysia. The concert was sponsored by the lottery company Magnum. I was on the site to witness this thrilling music festivity.

Here are 20+ photos of Candy Cheah Wan Theng taken on two of my Nikon DSLRs, I released them for CC-BY-SA 3.0 License, feel free to re-use if anyone is interested in the images. A backlink is much much appreciated.

Singer Beyonce Knowles performed at a private party at the Nikki Beach nightclub in Caribbean’s St. Bart’s island on 2010 New Year’s Eve. It was said Beyonce received a bonanza of up to two million US dollars.  The controversy was stirred up when the rumors claimed the concert was sponsored by a member of the not-so-welcomed-in-the-Western Libya’s Gaddafi family which has long been accused of supporting terrorism by some Westerners. To cool down the issue, Beyonce’s camp issued a statement to justify her performance and rejecting those vicious speculations.

The party in St. Bart’s on New Year’s Eve, with Beyoncé in performance, was hosted by Muatsim-Billah Gaddafi, not his brother Moutassim Bilal “Hannibal” Gaddafi, as reported in the press.

Her agents and management firm made the decision to confirm the private performance. The annual party had a long history of booking internationally known artists both American and foreign for events around the world, including Cannes.

Past performers in St. Bart’s have included Timbaland, Enrique Iglesias and Mariah Carey. Guests at this year’s party included singer Usher, former BET CEO Bob Johnson, actress Lindsay Lohan and music industry vets, Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and L.A. Reid.

It sounds Muatsim-Billah Gaddafi has no involvement with the rules in Libya of Colonel Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi. It could be true. If you guys have the knowledge on Billah Gaddafi, don’t hesitate to provide some info in the comments section below.

A rich Swiss man was fined a whopping USD 290,000 by a court in his country, reports said. He was caught driving a red Ferrari Testarossa at a speed of 137km/h, nearly 60km/h over than the legal limit set at 85km/h, on a village road.

“The accused ignored elementary traffic rules with a powerful vehicle out of a pure desire for speed,” the court said in its judgment.

The fine was calculated based on his wealth which the court estimated to be worth of nearly $23m and also due to the fact he repeatedly committed the speeding offense.

Probably because of the privacy concern, the identity of this Switzerland millionaire was not released in the public.

Gary Coleman Hospitalized for Possible Seizure

Gary Coleman 6th Annual "TV Land Awards" - Arrival

Mini actor Gary Coleman, pictured here, was hospitalized for a possible seizure this morning in California, TMZ reported. Gary Coleman, who was a former child star in Diff’rent Strokes, was in Los Angeles to promote the documentary Midgets Vs. Mascots where the 42-year-old competed for 1 million dollars in prize money with other 9 contestants.

According to TMZ, he was rushed to the hospital around 8:0o AM from LA’s Custom Hotel after he suffered from what “looked like a seizure” when sitting on the bed. He couldn’t even answer some plain questions like like “What month is it?” and whom he is staying with in his hotel room.

We guess, the condition of Gary Coleman who married with Shannon Price shouldn’t been life threatening. Just wish him a speedy recovery!
