Hunan zhuzhou global international building fire

A netizen witnessed the accident and told her/her accounts on Netease after the pictures were deleted from the local Zhuzhou Online.

At about 4:25pm on October 7, a fire suddenly broke out from the top floors of the topped, 30+-story Global International building which is under the decoration at Jiashe South Road in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province . A crane collapsed [at 7:15pm, on June 24, 2009] and now a fire happened again, this Global International building had become famous! Firefighters rushed to the scene to contain the fire but the high-pressure stream of water couldn’t reach the raging inferno. The scaling ladders was called in but the fire was too strong and very difficult to control. The building was burned up, the report said the fire was put out… I truly do not want such accidents to happen again,  when will the potential security hazard be over? ? ?

According to People Daily, the fire was extinguished within half an hour but the cause was still under investigation. Read the rest of this entry »

Gao Lisha Picture

Don’t be fooled by the title! When running across the forwarded message 最年轻的世界小姐,养眼!!!(literally The Youngest Miss World, Eyes Nuturing) at the Chinese social networking site Kaixin001.com, I was mesmerizing who is the youngest Miss World ever? Unfortunately, that Chinese title was exaggerated! The so-called youngest Miss World turned out to be Gao Lisha, a regional winner of Miss World China 2008 from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. At the time, she was only 16 years old. So some boasted she is the “youngest” Miss World. Not like many beauty pageants contestants who pursue a modelling career, it seems Gao Lisha is aspiring to be a musician. She is now studying at the prestigious music institution–Affiliated Middle School of Central Conservatory of Music–in China. Read the rest of this entry »

An indecent scene in Huaqing Chi

From Netease:

An impudent man.  The shameless man was seen at Huaqing Pond today [10/10/2009].

Frankly, that woman should also be complained, as you can see from the following picture, she appeared to managed to reach the base of the white marble goddess statute which situated a few feet away from the bank of the pool.

San Francisco Bus Chinese Woman-Black Lady Brawl

Posted October 9th, 2009 by Lindsay Britney

Youtube user Pereljon filmed and uploaded onto the video portal:

Oct 7, 2009 10am, Chinatown San Francisco. This fight occurred on the Muni Stockton route (the 9 i think) just before the stockton tunnel. As you can see, a simple argument about seat-hogging quickly turned into a full blown brawl. It’s pretty clear who threw the first punch, you can see the bus’ serial number, and the exact time in the video.

By the way, this is the same bus where I was attacked 3 weeks ago, so I thought documenting the event was the most important thing I could do. This fight was NOT reported by the driver OR by the MUNI person who happened to be at the final stop (Stockton and Sutter). I’ll be walking to work for a while.

According to those who can understand the Cantonese the angry Chinese woman spoke, the black lady was hogging a seat, the mid-aged politely asked the young if she could take the seat, the young lady didn’t make the offer and instead yelled at her. The result, as you watched from the video above, the auntie stood up and the incident developed into a brawl, seemly with the Chinese auntie becoming the winner in the end.

This video has become viral since it was uploaded to the internet on October 7, and is now re-posted to the Chinese bulletin where said the auntie was a diaspora of Taishan [a city in Guangdong Province).  With some visitors posted the racism-charged comments on Youtube, the video may be deleted in future.
