Everyone knows the reason why Maria Belen Chapur hits the worldwide news headlines–she was the mistress of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. You already know Maria Belen Chapur is from Argentina. As Argentina is a Spanish-language speaking country, María Belen Chapur has a Spanish name-María Belén Chapur. Sometimes Chapur spelled as Shapur, so Maria’s name can also be María Belén Shapur.

According to Huffington Post, Maria Belen Chapur is described by a neighbor as a beautiful brunette. A bar owner told TMZ Maria has “a banging body”, green eyes, and dirty blonde hair. Maria lives with a healthy lifestyle. She plays tennis, and jogs in the morning.

Maria Chapur stays in a 14-story building on Republica de la India in the upscale Palermo district, a street across Carlos Thays Botanical Gardens/Buenos Aires Zoo in the capital city of Argentina.

Maria Belen Chapur married once but got a divorce with her husband in 2001. She is a single mother with two teenager sons, aged at 19 and 15.

Reports on the age of Maria Belen Chapur are contradictory. Some media said she is 43 years old while others said she is 41.

Maria Chapura received early education at St. Catherine College in Buenos Aires. Later Maria entered the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) where she obtained a BA in Political Science. Other than Spanish, she can speak fluent, English, Portuguese, and Chinese.

Not as earlier reports said she works for the international agribusiness firm Bunge y Born, Maria Belen Chapur had a career involving in various media productions.

Not as we expected earlier, alleged photos of Maria Belen Chapur, identified as the mistress of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, were leaked online, only one day after he admitted having an affair with the Argentine woman. The News Bizarre uncovered these pictures from an unnamed social networking site of Maria Chapur and the site’s admin promised more to come.

Update: These “Maria Belen Chapur photos” were obtained from the Facebook account of an Argentina woman who called Maria Chapur. They might not be pictures of Mark Sanford mistress. Mark Sanford mistress photo is a hot search item on Google. The reason is obvious, because most, if not all, who know about Mark Sanford extramarital affairs with Argentina woman Maria, are curious to how South Carolina Governor’s girlfriend looks like. But it might not be so easy to find Maria’s pictures, like those of Cynthia Hampton, mistress of Nevada GOP Sen. John Ensign. Cynthia’s romance with Ensign has already been exposed a bit over one week, there is still no way to spot a picture of her. Those circulated so-called Cynthia (Cindy) Hampton’s pictures belong to two women who shared the same name with John Ensign’s girlfriend.

While we don’t know where Mark Sanford mistress photo is, we do know where she stays. Maria lives in a 14-story apartment on Republica de la India in Buenos Aires’s Palermo neighborhood,  a street across Carlos Thays Botanical Gardens in the capital of Argentina. See a photo here.

Update: Hours after we posted this entry, Inside Edition uncovered Cindy Hampton’s picture, beating any other media to become the first to publish such photo.

Update 2: Maria’s full name was revealed by the Argentine media as Maria Belen Chapur. Alleged Maria Chapur pictures were uncovered from her social networking.

Sanford Emails Maria Belen Chapur: Mark Sanford,Mistress Maria’s Emails Published

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted he was unfaithful to wife Jenny Sanford by having an affair with his Argentina mistress. Sanford said he had emails contact with his girlfriend, who so far is only known was identified as Maria Belen Chapur.

The State, the newspaper which caught Mark Sanford at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport when he came back to US after a week-long secret trip to Buenos Aries, said they obtained emails between the 49-year-old S.C. Gov. and Maria back in December and now published them on its website without disclosing Sanford mistress’s full name, address and e-mail address etc. We are wondering why the State revealed the emails contents only after Mark Sanford confessed his affairs.

The following are two excerpts of lover letters between Mark Sanford and his mistress.

Sanford to Maria:

Lastly I also suspect I feel a little vulnerable because this is ground I have never certainly never covered before – so if you have pearls of wisdom on how we figure all this out please let me know… In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul.”

Maria to Sanford:

You are my love … something hard to believe even for myself as it’s also a kind of impossible love, not only because of distance but situation. Sometimes you don’t choose things, they just happen… I can’t redirect my feelings and I am very happy with mine towards you.”

How romantic! Poor Jenny Sanford, who only knew his husband’s affair five months ago, one month later than The State knew the story.

Update: The Argentina media revealed Maria’s full name. She is called Maria Belen Chapur. Her alleged photos were spread like wild fires after being uncovered from Maria’s online social networking.
