2010 Oscar nominations were presented by actress Anne Hathaway and Tom Sherak, president of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, early today at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California. Nominated in the 9 categories, Avatar, which unquestionably is the most successful movie ever made in the history, could easily become the biggest winner at the awards ceremony hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin scheduled on March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
As such, we guess Titanic director James Cameron would be picked as the best director for his sci-fi epic film without any doubt.
Nominees for those categories that Avatar was nominated in are to face a tough task to compete with the flick. But no actor/actress from Avatar were nominated in the second and third most import categories– Best Leading Actor and Best Leading Actress, in these two cases, there are the big possibilities that Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart) and Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) can take a golden statute back home.
Jeff Bridges, 60, is believed one of the best actors never to win an Academy Award, while Sandra Bullock has recently won a Golden Globe for her roleas a foster mother of a homeless teen in The Blind Side.
