Katty Perry Rihanna NRJ Awards Mistake–Karry Perry was reportedly mistakenly given an NRJ Award which should instead been bestowed to Rihanna in France’s NRJ Awards in Cannes on January 17, 2009.

On the glittering ceremony of NRJ Awards, French version of Grammy’s,  Hot and Cold singer Katy Perry first collected the best international song which she tought she had won for the hit I Kissed A Girl, but later only found she was wrongly given the prize that should have been awarded to Rihanna for her single Disturbia.

According to BBC, host Nikos Aliagas said there had been a mistake in the vote-counting. Except for a bit embarrasment there was nothing too bad for Perry, because she eventually won the Best International Album Award.

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, of Portugal, won the title of FIFA World Player of the Year during the FIFA World Player Gala 2008 at the Opera house in Zurich, Switzerland, Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, beating Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Spain’s Fernando Torres. C. Ronaldo, 23 years old, has made the history because he isthe first English Premier League player ever to claim the FIFA award since it was introduced in 1991.

Speaking of his success, Ronaldo, who recently crashed his Ferrari sports car in an accident, couldn’t but help credit coach Sir Alex Ferguson, “It was a great season for my club and the coach was important for me because I learnt a lot from him. He has immense experience. You know a good player could never make it without a great coach. It’s been a privilege to play under him.”

Jordin Sparks was naughty! The jubilant winner of American Idol Season 6, made faces when posing for photogs in the press room after winning a Favorite Combined Forces trophy her song No Air, with R&B singer Chris Brown, Rihanna’s boyfriend, at the 35th Annual People’s Choices Awards held in Los Angels on Jan. 7, 2008.

“I actually think this is the first award show I’ve been at where they’ve actually aired my award, so I’m very excited about that. I feel like I’m on Idol again.” Sparks, 19, said during her acceptance speech.
