Colby Curtin, Vascular Cancer-stricken Girl, Died, 7 Hrs After Fulfilling Final Wish To Watch Animated Movie “Up”

Colby Curtin, from Huntington Beach, California, is a 10 year old girl. Colby Curtin was diagnosed with vascular cancer in 2005. Curtin had a final wish to watch Disney/Pixar animation movie Up after she saw previews for the film in April.

On June 9 when Colby was too sick to watch the movie in the theatre, a family friend contacted both Disney and Pixar. Pixar officials agreed to send someone to Colby’s house the following day with a DVD copy of Up for a private screening.

Seven hours after Colby Curtin watched the picture and fullfilled her last wish, the poor vascular cancer-stricken girl passed away at night.

“When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie,” Lisa Curtin, Colby’s mother told to The Orange County Register, according to AP. “I just know that word ‘Up’ and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven.”

What a bittersweet story!

Skylar Deleon Got Capital Punishment on April 10, 2009

Skylar Deleon, 30, was sentenced to death for murdering three people in 2003 and 2004 at Orange County Superior Court, California today. OCregister.com is saying Skylar Deleon will die by being given a lethal injection. According to southgatearc.org, the sentence is expected to be delivered at 9am today, Friday, April 10, in the court in Santa Ana, California.

Skylar Deleon, a former child actor on Might Morphin Power Rangers movie, was previously convicted of murdering John Peter Jarvi in a Mexican desert in 2003 and the couple of Thomas and Jackie Hawks in 2004.

Announcing the capital punishment, “the mental anguish and torment these three people must have anticipated while bound and eventually experiencing their ultimate fates warrants the death penalty instead of life without parole,” Judge Frank Fasel said in the courtroom according to LAT.

Last July, Skylar Deleon who is from Long Beach hit the news headlines for a bizarre move–he tried to saw his own penis off with a razor blade in jail.

Natasha Bedingfield, British singer for 2004 No 1 single These Words, has married to her boyfriend, ‘hotter-than-David-Beckham’ Californian businessman Matt Robinson. Natasha Bedingfield, 27, and Matt Robinson, 30, tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony held in Malibu. The Church Estates Vineyard the couple chose is the the same wedding venue as Black Eyed Peas star Fergie when she wed boyfriend Josh Duhamel in January. On the wedding, Bedingfield wore a cream silk Vera Wang dress and Robinson donned an Armani suit, accroding to Dailymail. The newspaper said there were 150 guests including Bedingfield’s family members having attended a wedding ceremony which the singer described as “simple, beautiful  and natural.” Happy wedding!
