Actor Djimon Hounsou became a father for the first time after his girlfriend/partner Kimora Lee Simmons gave birth to his son on Saturday May 30, 2009.

Djimon Hounso, 45, who was born in Benin, has been dating Kimora Lee Simmons, 34, model and CEO of fashion line Baby Phat since 2007. US weekly reported that Hounsou and Kimora were expecting a child together this January.

On May 29 night, Kimora tweet she was in hospital for the delivery, “It’s time !! No turning back! At hospital in labor right now!!” Then she posted a picture of her in hospital bed on Twitpic (watch below) before adding, “Having contractions now! Ooo- wee! It’s like WHOA!”

Hours later, Kimora proudly announced she and boyfriend Hounsou are proud parents of their son, “It’s a boy! Thanks to everyone out there for all your well wishes! More to come. Thank God. And God Bless!

Djimon Hounson is also the stepfather for Kimora’s two daughters with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, Ming Lee Simmons, 8, and Aoki Lee Sommons, 6. Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons married in 1999 but separated in 2006. They finally got divorced in January, 2009.

As an acclaimed actor, Djimon Hounsou was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for In America, in 2004, and again for Blood Diamond in 2006.

Update: Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Lee Simmons named their son as Kenzo Lee Housou. Kenzo was named after the Japanese fashion icon Kenzo Takada. He was born 8 lbs and 20 inches.

Scientology! Suri Cruise is to have Scientology training. Scientologist, actor Tom Cruise reportedly is sending daughter Suri to be trained at the Church of Scientology’s 6,000 pounds-a-year New Village Academy in Los Angeles after celebrating her three years old birthday on April 18.

Dailymail is reporting Suri Cruise will study five days a week at the Scientology academy Will Smith and his wife Jada Plinko Smith opened in 2008. Suri will be taught by trained Scientologists with the ‘study technology’ as a key curricular focus.

“The children have a lot of responsibilities from a very young age. The school is particularly strict about nutrition, demanding a low-carb, low-sodium and low-sugar organic diet,” a source told to the newspaper before adding, “Katie is understandably a little anxious about being separated from Suri.”

Perez Hilton is worrying about Suri’s Scientology training, “Our sweet little alien princess is going down the rabbit hole, and there’s no going back now!…Can Suri’s Catholic maternal grandparents intervene??????”

Meet Satyana Denisof, the newly born daughter of actress Alyson Hannigan and husband Alexis Denisof. Baby Satyana shared the same birthday with mom Alyson Hannigan when welcomed to the world on March 24 in Los Angles. Mum Alyson, How I Met Your Mother and American Pie star who was announced pregnant in October, turned 35 years old on the day.  Satyana Denisof is the first child together for her parents who married since 2003. The birth news broke out only one week later on March 31. At the time, the rep of Alyson told People, “They [Alyson and Denisof ]‘re very excited, and mom and baby are doing great.”  Our belated congrats to Alyson Hannigan for her giving the birth.
