Jasper Schuringa who? “Jasper Schuringa” is the most searched phrase on Google at the time of this entry was being written up. As indicated in the post title, Jasper Schuringa was a Northwest Flight 253 passenger who helped subdue Abdul Umar Farouk Muttalab after the 23-year-old Nigerian Muslim radical’s attempted terrorism attack on the airplane just landing at Detroit Metro Airport on December25, 2009. Schuringa emerged from nowhere after CNN mentioned his name in the report where the cable news network published a photo exclusively obtained showing Umar Farouk Muttalab was taken away by the US marshals from the jet. Jasper Schuringa told CNN that with the aid of the cabin crew, he helped tackled Abdulmutallab after the Nigerian man detonated an explosive device strapped on his leg. Earlier reports said “another passenger …quickly helped subdue and isolate the young male suspect with the aid of the cabin crew,” apparently now it is clear who ’s that “another passenger.” He is none other than Jasper Schuringa.” Kudos to brave Jasper!

Update: Jasper Schuringa, is a video director from Netherlands. Click here to read New York Daily News’s details on his deeds:
