Bobek, … who has homes in Manhattan and in Jupiter, Fla., appeared in Central Judicial Processing Court via video link from the Hudson County jail in Kearny. She was arrested in Florida as a fugitive from justice based on the charged filed in Hudson County. Bobek did not fight extradition and was brought to New Jersey on Thursday by officers of the Hudson County Sheriffs office.

Nicole Bobek through her attorney Sam DeLuca pleaded not guilty. Bobek is being held on a $200,000 bail. She faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Update: Nicole Bobek was released on a bail reduced from $200,000 to $100,000. NJ.com said a state Superior Court judge allowed her to return to her Florida home, but restricted her travel to that state and New Jersey. According to AP, Jana Bobek, Nicole’s mother, did not believe her daughter would do something illegal, but said if she did, it was because of the company she keeps. Jana said her daughter likes to “party” and that she has a good heart.

Michael Jacksons Drugs Cocktail

Michael Jackson might be desperate for the money so that he could have decided to stage his farewell concerts This Is It in London. For the pre-concert rehearsals, Michael Jackson, who was in poor health, reportedly relied on extensive medications. According to Dailymail, the 50-year-old King of Pop, took a deadly cocktail of eight drugs everyday before his cardiac arrest on June 25. The eight drugs were three painkillers Demerol, Vicodin and Dilaudid, two anti-anxiety medicine Xanax and Zoloft, one muscle relaxant Soma, one heartburn pill Prisolec and one anti-depressant Paxil. Taking the three powerful pain relievers at the same time could be potentially fatal to Jackson. Couldn’t be any more tragic! Source

NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield, as well as Tony Martin and Ben Williams, was suspended indefinitely for failing to pass the drugs test, according to the reports.

Full Throttle reported all three were found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 7-5 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2009 NASCAR rule book.

Chicogo Tribune said NASCAR spokesman Jim Hunter would not reveal the banned drug in question but did say it was not an alcohol-related offense.

Jeremy Mayfield drives the #41 All Sport Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup Series for his own team, Mayfield Motorsports. According to Full Throtlte, since Mayfield was banned indefinitely, his NO.41 car will have to be sold, or at least listed under a different name.

A statement Jeremy Mayfield issued to SI.com addressed his drug problem and revealed his team is finding a substitute driver.

“As both a team owner and a driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, I have immense respect for the enforcement policies NASCAR has in place. In my case, I believe that the combination of a prescribed medicine and an over the counter medicine reacted together and resulted in a positive drug test. My Doctor and I are working with both Dr. Black and NASCAR to resolve this matter.

“Mayfield Motorsports remains committed to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the organization will announce an interim owner and a temporary replacement driver early next week. Those roles will commence immediately beginning with next week’s Sprint Open and continuing through Charlotte and beyond.”
