Is A Tunisian Woman Truly Pregnant With 12 Babies? (Picture)

Written by Lindsay Britney on Aug 18, 2009.

Nadya Suleman Octopulet Pregnant Picture It seems Octmom Nadya Suleman’s record that she had given birth to her Ocotuplets who all survived wouldn’t be shattered any time soon. The Tunisia woman who claimed to be pregnant with 12 babies after IVF treatment now is in question:

AP reports that a woman who claims to be pregnant with 12 babies refused to see a doctor for an ultrasound, putting doubts to her claim.

The combo picture above shows Octomom Nadya Suleman’s exploding abdomen where her then unborn octopulets were housed. If  Tunisian woman’s duodecaplets pregnancy claim were true, her baby bump should be even more gigantic than Suleman’s.

Is the Tunisian woman truly pregnant with 12 babies? Most probably not!

It seems the world is to have a shocking, crazy and unprecedent record in the history of humankind’s reproduction. Daily Mail is reporting a Tunisian woman is conceiving 12 babies (duodecaplets) after in vitro fertility treatment, and she will go to the labor as soon as within this month. From Daily Mail:

A mother is set to give birth to 12 babies this month, breaking the record set by U.S. mother Nadya Suleman who delivered healthy octuplets.

The teacher from Tunisia is expecting six boys and six girls, after undergoing fertility treatment.

The woman – who is yet to be named – and her husband of two years turned to IVF after suffering two miscarriages.

She said she was now looking forward to hugging her babies.

Despite the risks of a multiple-pregnancy, the family who live in Gafsa, southwest of Tunis the capital, said it was an ‘amazing and wonderful miracle’.

Commenting on the news, a reader called herself Jen expressed her concerns:

They seem to naively think that they will end up with 12 healthy babies at the end of this. Nadia Suleman was VERY lucky that all of her 8 babies survived. The fact that it was massive news across the world is because having multiple pregnancies ending well is so rare. ‘Octomum’ was huge by the end of her pregnancy and although they were very well sized considering, the babies were still tiny and needed special care.

Horribly pessimistic but there is no way that a woman’s body could cope with the massive strain of carrying 12 babies and the babies simply won’t be able to develop fully enough in the womb for them to have a chance when they are born. It’s disgustingly irresponsible that any doctor would implant so many embryo’s in the first place. Sadly I cannot see this story having a happy ending.

What Jen said can’t be more true!

Jenny Brown, 72, Seeking IVF Treatment to Have A Baby

Written by Lindsay Britney on Jul 13, 2009.

Jenny Brown, 72, is seeking the in vitro fertility treatment to have a baby. Jenny Brown (photo), from London, is unmarried, in fact, she had never a long-term relationship with the men. As the hospitals in the UK did not offer the IVF treatment to the woman who is older than 50, Jenny tried her luck overseas. But so far, it wasn’t successful even after she spent £30,000 in the United States and Italy. Jenny Brown is going to apply to have treatment at clinics in Bulgaria, Romania, Spain and India. A lot of people critised Jenny, believing she is selfish and irresponsible to conceive a baby at such an old age. They said she could leave any child she had orphaned as an infant. What’s the reaction of Jenny Brown? “Any mother can die at any age. Look at Jade Goody.” She defended.

What’s your opinion?
