American Idol Audition Notoriety

Many unsuccessful American Idol contestants were soon forgotten by the audience after they failed to advance to the second round of FOX reality show. Apparently Alexis Cohen was not one of them. Because the Allentown, Pennsylvania, woman gained the notoriety from both of her American Idol auditions.

In August, 2007, Alexis Cohen had auditioned on American Idol 7 with Jefferson Airplane’s 1967 hit song Somebody To Love. She failed to impress three judges. After being pissed off by Simon Cowell who called her performance “possessed” and “channeling the voices”, and even compared her her to Willem Dafoe’s character Green Goblin in Spider-Man, Alexis Cohen went to a surprising tirade which shocked a lot. Alexis Cohen Tribute

Youtube live internet show duo RhettandLink produced a song out of Alexis Cohen’s rants not long after she became famous in January, 2008.

I’ll make it one day. One day. Somehow, some way.
And I hope that someone sees that I have some talent somewhere.
Whether it be in acting or singing.
Or whether it be the fact that I have the chutzpah, and the ?,
To be able to get up and talk.
To be able to say what I’m thinking. To be able to say what I mean.
To be able to speak the heart. To be able to…talk. To be able to lead.
I will be victorious. Always be victorious. All rising!
