US National Soccer Team made a history on June 24. Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey each scored one goal to help 14th-ranked US beat top-ranked Spain 2:0 at the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009. The victory at Bloemfontein’s Free State Stadium made US advance for the first time ever to compete at a world final. Another significance was that Jozy Altidore’s goal at first half was the U.S.’s first goal against Spain in the past 59 years.
