President-elect Barack Obama spilled beans on his First Dog choice. During an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Obama who is to swear-in as USA’s 44th President on January 20, said either Portuguese Water Hound or Labradoodle, both hypoallergenic dog breeds, would be picked as First Pet. Malia Ann Is Pet Allergenic! Soon-to-be First Daughter Malia Ann Obama is allergenic to the dogs, it was revealed by father, President-elect Barack Obama at his first press conference (full video) on November 7 after election. When asked by the journalists yesterday to comment a bit on his future First Pet, Barack Obama said he would choose the one that is sheltered and hypoallergenic.

On the acceptance speech at Grand Park on November 4, Obama promised her daughters Malia Ann, 10, and Natasha (Sasha), 7, with a new pooch. At the time, he said, “Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.”
