Swine Flu stricken Mexico City Earthquake Hit on April 27

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A strong earthquake struck central Mexico on Monday, swaying tall buildings in the capital and sending office workers into the streets.

The 6.0-magnitude quake was centered near Chilpancingo, about 130 miles (210 kilometers) southwest of Mexico City or 50 miles (80 kilometers) from the resort of Acapulco, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Televisa television network quoted Mexico City officials saying there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake rattled nerves in a city already nervous about a swine flu outbreak suspected of killing as many as 149 people nationwide.

“I’m scared,” said Sarai Luna Pajas, a 22-year-old social services worker standing outside her office building moments after it hit. “We Mexicans are not used to living with so much fear, but all that is happening — the economic crisis, the illnesses and now this — it feels like the Apocalypse.”

His estimated $1 billionaire made him the world’s 701th richest man on Forbes’s Rich List 2009. But not like his fellow billionaires who can publicly be interviewed, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, a tunnel expert, can not, because he hides somewhere since escaping from the prison 2001. America’s Most Wanted offers a reward up to $5 million for his arrest. But when one knows the fact that El Chapo’s Sinola Cartel was responsible about 7,000 murders in 2008 alone, who dares to have an intention to win that 5 million? Link

Rosalio Reta, Gabriel Cardona’s friend and fellow member of Gulf Cartel assassination group in US Los Zetas, is having the same tattoo. Santa Muerte, or Santisima Muerte, called Death Saint, is worshiped by (Latin) American drug traffickers and their hit men, among them including teen hitmen Gabriel Cardona and Rosalio Reta. Cardona and Reta were arrested in April 2006 for several murders both in USA and Mexico during 2005 and 2006. As the description of their crimes on killing some victims like Jorge Alfonso Aviles, Inez Villarreal and Noe Flores among others, are too graphic, we wouldn’t write them up here. But of course, you can find from CNN, Chrom, and lmtonline where well described how they as ruthless teens committed the brutality. Finally brought to the injustices, both Gabriel Cardona and Rosalio Reta have been convicted and sentenced. Cardona has got a life sentence of 80 years in prison without parole while Reta was senteced 40 years. Before their arrest, Gabriel Cardona and Rosalio Reta drove a luxury $70,000 Mercedes for their joy ride and were paid $500 a week and up to $50,000 togehter 2 kilograms of cocaine for carrying out a hit.

Gabriel Cardona (pictured above), of Texas’s Laredo, is a teen hit man for Mexico’s drug gang Gulf Cartel. Gabriel Cardona, now 22, has been sentenced life in prison without parole. He was convicted of committing killings both in USA and Mexico during 2005 and 2006. (more…)
