Yu Sheng (余声), who is from Anhui Province, won the title of Miss World China 2009 on October 6, with Zhan Yang and Yu Weiwei becoming the second and third runner-up respectively. The reigning Miss World Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia crowned Miss Yu Sheng in the Chinese bustling city Shenzhen, Guangdong yesterday. Yu Sheng will represent China to compete at the 59th Miss World beauty pageants to be held on December 12, 2009 at the Sandton Convention Center, Johannesburg, South Africa. Miss Yu, a graduate of Linguitics Communication Department of Communication University of China’ Nanjing, aspires to be an elegant anchorwoman. (more…)

Meet Duong Truong Thien Ly, the Vietnamese contestant of Miss World 2008. Duong Troung Thien Ly was picked as a candidate by the Vietnamese authorities to represent her country just days ago. The original candidate should be Miss Vietnam 2008, Tran Thi Thuy Dung. But when Thuy Dung, 18, was found out being a high school drop-out, she was disqualified by the government. After months of scouring a fit beauty, Vietnam has finally selected Duong Truong Thien Ly, the 2nd runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2008. There are plenty of info about Duong Truong Thien Ly on the websites from Vietnam. But because we are not Vietnamese language savvy, we can not provide a detailed bio for Thien Ly, other than knowing she is 20 years old and stands169cm tall.  Miss World 2008 Beauty Pageants will be staged at Sandton Convention Centre in South Africa’s Johannesburg on 13 December, 2008. Tran Thi Thuy Dung Disqualified to Compete Miss World 2008 by The Vietnamese Government for Being a High School Drop-out. Tran Thi Thuy Dung, 18, was crowned Miss Vietnam 2008 earlier this year, but disqualified by her government to compete at Miss World 2008 Beauty Pageant to be stage at Sandton Convention Centre in South Africa’s Johannesburg on 13th December 2008.

Tran Thi Thuy Dung was dethroned after being found by the authorities that she did not finish the high school. The Vietnam Government is yet to find a substitute to replace Thuy Dung to attend the pageant. (more…)
