Matt Pinfield Announced Rehab For “A Dependency”, But Did Not Say What Substance He Addicted To.

New York 101.9 RXP morning show DJ Matt Pinfield is entering rehab. Matt Pinfield, pictured above, announced his rehab decision in a blog entry on the Pinfield webpage at 1019rxp.com. Pinfield decided he voluntarily takes some time time off and seeks treatment for what he called a certain “dependency.” But he did not elaborate on what substance addiction he is suffering:

“I have been struggling with a dependency that I need to address, and so I will be voluntarily suspending my involvement on the 101.9 RXP morning show until I have completed the healing process.

After a few recent slips from my path to health I feel it important to proactively address these slips to ensure that my life continues its positive momentum.

I am so thankful to my family, friends, fans and co-workers here at 101.9 RXP who have provided me with such a deep support system and I want my fans to know that I am well and hope to return and continue what I have started here at RXP.”

Matt coutinued to say 101.9 RXP staff unanimously support him. While he is rehabbing for the treatment. Leslie Fram and producer Matt Ianni will cover the 101.9 RXP Morning Show along with some special guests.

Matt Pinfield, 43, is a well known music personality. He has previously worked as video deejay on MTV and VH1. He was honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

Darnell Brittingham, of Hackensack in New Jersey, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head Tuesday night in Greenburgh, New York. Darnell Brittingham, aka King Tut, was an aspiring rapper. He was 23 years old. Brittingham was wanted for alleging of slaying a woman in a Hackensack apartment on February 12. At the night of March 17, when the police tried to pull him from a taxi in Greenburgh, he refused to surrender himself and took his own life by shooting the head. Source: Yahoo

New York Post Actress Natasha Richardson Brain Dead Report

A skiing accident that Natasha Richardson herself originally thought not serious is critically endangering her life. Time Out New York first said Natasha Richardson is brain dead, and now New York Post has the same claim:

Actress Natasha Richardson is brain dead – after falling in a ski accident in Canada – and is now on sad journey home to New York, friends told The Post today.

Richardson, who was being treated at a Montreal hospital, is being transported to New York this afternoon so her mom Vanessa Redgrave, two children and other loved ones can say goodbye before she’s taken off life-support, friends said.

But we’d rather believe TMZ which said “Richardson is sedated and suffering from brain swelling.” (more…)

Radio personality Don Imus has prostate cancer [wikipedia] and Imus’s cancer is in stage II (which means the cancer is in early stage and has not spread outside the prostate to other organs), according to the media report. The 68-year-old radio host told his listeners of Imus In The Morning show from New York Monday that he is battling stage II prostate cancer. Don Imus is confident doctors can cure him but has noted he most probably will have to miss some broadcasting work due to the cancer treatment. “The day you find out is fine. But the next morning when you get up, your knees are shaking. I didn’t think I could make it to work.” said Mr. Imus. We wish Mr. Don Imus all the best! (more…)
