Southwest Airlines hole is a hole on a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 jetliner, :) . The football-size hole (scroll down for pictures) appeared on the top of the fuselage of Flight 2294 jet which was en route from Nashville, Tennessee to Baltimore, Maryland on Monday evening. The sudden open-up 30 minutes into the flight led the Southwest Airlines flight to divert to the Yeager Airport in Charleston, West Virginia for an emergency (and safe) landing. No injuries were caused for a total of 131 people aboard, including five crew. (more…)

One of tyres of Southwest Airlines Flight 519 from New Orleans caught fire after the jet touched down and was sliding on the tarmac at Houston Hobby Airport on May 12 night. All five crew members and 47 passengers aboard were uninjured after they escaped by sliding down emergency evacuation chutes of the jet as firefighters tried to extinguish the flames. The accident was filmed on a tape now wildly circulated on the internet. You can watch the footage from UK’s Telegraph below. Good news, hours before this post was entered, the burned tire was changed and the airplane was put back into service.
