South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted he was unfaithful to wife Jenny Sanford by having an affair with his Argentina mistress. Sanford said he had emails contact with his girlfriend, who so far is only known was identified as Maria Belen Chapur.

The State, the newspaper which caught Mark Sanford at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport when he came back to US after a week-long secret trip to Buenos Aries, said they obtained emails between the 49-year-old S.C. Gov. and Maria back in December and now published them on its website without disclosing Sanford mistress’s full name, address and e-mail address etc. We are wondering why the State revealed the emails contents only after Mark Sanford confessed his affairs.
The following are two excerpts of lover letters between Mark Sanford and his mistress.
Sanford to Maria:
Lastly I also suspect I feel a little vulnerable because this is ground I have never certainly never covered before – so if you have pearls of wisdom on how we figure all this out please let me know… In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul.”
Maria to Sanford:
You are my love … something hard to believe even for myself as it’s also a kind of impossible love, not only because of distance but situation. Sometimes you don’t choose things, they just happen… I can’t redirect my feelings and I am very happy with mine towards you.”
How romantic! Poor Jenny Sanford, who only knew his husband’s affair five months ago, one month later than The State knew the story.
Update: The Argentina media revealed Maria’s full name. She is called Maria Belen Chapur. Her alleged photos were spread like wild fires after being uncovered from Maria’s online social networking.
